What a fun summer I've had making appearances as Mrs. Canyon County.
One of my favorites was as a "Celebrity Chef" at the Canyon County fair, where I got to make a "secret family recipe" and share it with the audience - they loved it!
Another contestant (and friend!) Sondra and I made new friends as we served dinner at the City Light Shelter for women and children. How heart warming to bring a smile to the faces of the little girls and be a positive example of what women can achieve.
What better way to spend a Friday night than under the stars watching a movie! One of Caldwell Night's Movie for a Cause was a benefit for Hope's Door and Advocates Against Family Violence. I helped Executive Director Kim Ivacek with the fundraising by helping to sell concessions to the audience.
Also benefitting Hope's Door and AAFV was the Canyon County Music Festival at Memorial Park, where my donation allowed me to share my business at the Vendor Fair part of the event. I also donated items from my Arbonne business for the silent auction to help raise more funds for domestic violence awareness.
I also "got to" participate in a Hip-Hop Zumba dance lesson at the Music Festival -- alongside Canyon County Mayors Tom Dale of Nampa and Garrett Nancolas of Caldwell. That was hysterical!
Fun fun fun!
Thanks so much!! :) Christy
