The Annual Chili Feed in Meridian 2011 was hosted by the Firefighters Pipe & Drums unit. This events' proceeds support burned victims and families. http://www.meridiancity.org/fire.aspx?id=2605
I was asked to be one of the judges where there were several participating commercial, non-commercial and local fire departments that brought their famous chili. Each hoped to take away a giant chili award and of course bragging rights home with them. Some of the
awards were peoples choice, best in show, costume/booth setup . Hmmm ..sounds somewhat like a pageant to me, but along with those were of course tasting the chili, therefore award for best chili. WOW! Now I thought my chili was the best. We have some of the best chili made right here in Idaho! The community came out in hundreds in support of a wonderful cause with plenty of entertainment and delicious food!
